No one who has the pleasure of working on Rockline would ever say it isn’t about the coolest gig ever, but occasionally we have moments that remind us how the show becomes part of rock history too, which only heightens the experience. Puddle of Mudd is scheduled to join us again and it will mark four albums out of four in which the band has debuted their album on national rock radio on Rockline. It’s become a tradition for the band to bring the album with them before release to share the new music as well as the stories surrounding this latest collection of songs the band has birthed. We’re expecting the entire band to join us from New York City to give you full access to ask what you want about their history, or about the new album, “Volume Four: Songs in the Key of Love and Hate”. Bone up a bit at PuddleOfMudd.com or their MySpace.
If a band is talented enough and lucky enough to get to four albums there’s a reason and one of the prime consideration’s is whether the band can continue to grow and to create a legacy and a body of work that will sustain them for generations to come. In an age of one lapse or one bad album and “you’re history”, Puddle of Mudd has staked their claim as one of the best and most important bands of their generation and “Volume Four” is an absolute joy to listen to, spirited, polished, but just right, not too much. POM’s growth is something to cheer. This album’s tone is set early in the first song, “Stoned” with one of the most memorable, really mean it, screams in recent rock, laying down a “we’ve come to kick your ass on this album” statement and they do. The ultra-friendly radio track “Spaceship” comes next and then the band explores new turf with a welcomed depth and consistency hinted at since their inception with some evocative, passionate rock from the Kansas City born band.
Share the new album as Puddle of Mudd join us our next Rockline with a creation to be proud of, “Volume Four; Songs in the Key of Love and Hate”.
