Operation Mudd

This flag was presented to Puddle of Mudd

On July 5, 2008

97.9 WCPRFest – Biloxi, MS

Through the eyes of the soldiers in Iraq – you have made a lasting impression of your integrity, camaraderie, and unselfish sacrifice during your recent performance at Q-West Airbase in Iraq on June 12th as well as other military posts from May through June of this year in your effort to support the men and women of our Armed Forces. You went deep into hostile territory, as far as 300 kilometers north of Baghdad to bring a small piece of home to those who are doing one of the most difficult jobs imaginable. For a moment in time they were able to forget the harsh realities they face everyday.

Through the coordinated effort of Black Hawk Helicopter Pilot Chief Warrant Officer 3 Erik Drown and his Regiment, we present you with this signed American Flag and Certificates of Authenticity from Stetson Troop 4th Squadron, 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment.

It is with heartfelt gratitude, Erik and his comrades say thank you to Wes Scantlin, Doug Ardito, Christian Stone, Ryan Yerdon, and the entire Puddle of Mudd crew for shining a light in the middle of their darkness as they persevere to share the vision of what a true Independence Day is all about.

Erik and his Regiment wish to thank WCPR and their sponsors for allowing this presentation during their event as we celebrate the 232nd Anniversary of Independence of our great country, the United States of America.

The human race … And Puddle of Mudd's amazing grace.

In recognition of Puddle of Mudd and their crew, on June 20, 2008 this flag was flown on the side of a helicopter on a combat mission over Baghdad in the face of the enemy with Patriotism, Pride, and Fidelity and is presented to you and your crew as a small token of appreciation for supporting all of the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, and Marines while deployed during Operation Iraqi Freedom. - Certificate by CW3 Erik Drown

Thanks to Leischen. It wouldn't have been the same without someone who has been a part of Puddle of Mudd since their very beginning. Thanks for many years of being such a good friend to Wes and all of POM.

Last but not least, thanks to Erik and his troop, not only for the time and effort for this project to leave the ground, but for helping others in the fight for freedom. Be safe and I hope all of you are home soon.
