Miller Lite Rock n' Racing Concert in Expo Village
Featuring Puddle of Mudd
The
California Rock Band, Puddle of Mudd, will perform a Miller Lite Rock n’
Racing Concert Friday, July 9 after the NASCAR Pole Day at Chicagoland Speedway
in Expo Village. The concert is scheduled to begin approximately at 5:00 pm, but
because of the large crowd expected for NASCAR Pole Day and the concert, guests
are urged to arrive early.
Race
fans can purchase a NASCAR Pole Day ticket for $15 (children 12 and under are
free) and enjoy the concert in Expo Village after qualifying. Tickets for NASCAR
Pole Day can be purchased by calling 815-727-7223 or by visiting
ChicagolandSpeedway.com. The Miller Lite Rock n’ Racing Concert in Expo
Village Featuring Puddle of Mudd is free of charge and no ticket is required for
entry. “We are very excited that our partnership with Miller has created
another exciting element to our NASCAR weekend - the Miller Lite Rock n’
Racing Concert in Expo Village Featuring Puddle of Mudd," said Matthew
Alexander, vice president and general manager of Chicagoland Speedway. "Our
goal is to maximize the experience of our race fans at Chicagoland Speedway, and
Puddle of Mudd’s brand of music and on-stage energy is sure to add excitement
to our NASCAR Pole Day.”
Miller
Lite's Rock 'n' Racing program combines two of the country's greatest pastimes -
racing and live music. The Miller Lite Rock n’ Racing concert series has taken
place at select NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series events, as well as the Indianapolis
500. During the July 9-11 NASCAR weekend at Chicagoland Speedway, Rusty
Wallace's No. 2 Miller Lite Dodge will also feature a special Miller Lite Rock
n' Racing paint scheme featuring Puddle of Mudd to promote the concert.
Puddle
of Mudd came out with their first album in 2001, “Come Clean”. It sold over
five million copies and produced no less than four radio hits (‘Blurry’,
‘Control’, ‘Drift And Die’, ‘She Hates Me’). ‘Blurry’ became the
most played track on Modern Rock Radio for 2002 and earned the ASCAP award for
most played song of the year. “Come Clean” sold 116,000 copies in its first
week of release - a record for a new rock act. Puddle of Mudd’s songs have
become a benchmark in contemporary guitar rock. It’s this kind of attention
which inspired the title of Puddle Of Mudd’s sophomore collection, “Life On
Display” (released November 25). This long awaited follow-up retains the
quartet’s no-nonsense anti-formula, and brings a more defined and occasionally
dark edge to the songs.
