PUDDLE OF MUDD PRESENTED WITH KEY TO THE CITY OF SPRINGFIELD, ILLINOIS

Santa Monica, California, March 8, 2004 – Puddle Of Mudd was surprised last Tuesday night when the Mayor of Springfield, Illinois stepped on stage to present the band with the key to the city. Mayor Tom Davlin presented the band the key during the encore of Puddle Of Mudd’s sold-out show at the Illinois State Fairgrounds. Mayor Davlin was quick to note to the crowd that Puddle Of Mudd’s show was one of the fastest selling concerts in local history.

The Springfield date was part of the band’s eight-week headlining tour (see below for remaining dates) . Puddle Of Mudd's current Top 20 single "Heel Over Head" is the latest from their second Flawless/Geffen Records album "Life On Display," which was produced by John Kurzweg, Michael "Elvis" Baskette and the band. The cd’s premiere single "Away From Me" was #1 on the Mainstream Rock chart for 4 weeks in a row.

"Life On Display" follows the phenomenal 5 million-plus worldwide sales of P.O.M.’s 2001 debut "Come Clean," which spawned four #1 alternative and rock radio hit singles ("Blurry," "She Hates Me," "Control" and "Drift And Die"). "Blurry" was the most played track on Modern Rock Radio for 2002 and earned the ASCAP award for most played song of the year.
