TOP 10 REQUESTED LOVE SONGS
Valentine's
Day is a busy day for DJs throughout Southern Illinois. Through their years of
experience on air with those who are in love or heart broken, here is a list of
the top 10 songs they say are most often requested on Valentine's Day. This is
by no means a scientific listing and not in any particular order:
1. "Unchained Melody" by the Righteous
Brothers. "That's because everybody gets lucky," said Pat Benton, DJ
with Magic 95.1.
2. "Beautiful Soul" by Jesse McCartney. The
song is new to the airwaves, but Paxton Guy, DJ with W3D, said it's been one of
the most requested songs.
3. "You're Still the One" by Shania Twain,
which W3D DJ Wes Bennett said is very popular on the holiday.
4. "She Hates Me" by Puddle of Mudd is a
popular song for the bitter and angry, said TAO's Pinto.
5.
"Baby Got Back" by Sir Mix-A-Lot is one of Guy's off-beat requests,
"believe it or not," he said, he's had more than one request for that
song.
6. "My Heart Will Go On" by Celine Dion is
one of Benton's more popular requests.
7. "Valentine" by Martina McBride is another
one of Bennett's most requested songs.
8. "I'm Already There" by Lone Star is always
a big request on Valentine's Day, according to DJ Dave McKenzie of Z100.
9. "Cross My Heart" by George Strait is a
perennial favorite, Bennett said.
10. "I Will Always Love You" the Whitney
Houston version is also a Valentine's Day must on Magic 95.1, Benton said.
